What do you need from me to get started? Once I'm ready to begin your piece, I will contact you with an address for shipping/drop off. Then you will just send over whatever you have. I will go through it (no matter what state it is in) and find what I'm looking for. The more art the better!
Do you use the original art? No, I do not use your original art. I will only use it to make copies and send all your items back to you. I find that the art used is mainly from early childhood PK-5th grade.
What if I want something bigger or smaller or something different than listed on the price list? Let’s talk about it. It is difficult to do something smaller than a 30"x30" because it tends to look too busy. Bigger sizes are fine, they just have a larger shipping or handing charge. But it is your art and we can discuss specific requests if you decide to move forward.
Will my custom art piece be framed? The art is done on a birch wood panel 1-5/8" deep. It looks nice on it's own, but could be displayed beautifully in a floater frame (different finishes available) at an additional cost.
Will I be allowed to provide creative direction? Your input will absolutely be welcomed. Before we begin the project together, we will have a one-on-one consultation where you will share your hopes and dreams for this custom art piece and how you would like your memories captured. If your daughter was obsessed with purple polka dots and spiders or your son loved robots and monster trucks, I want to hear about it.
Where can my art piece be displayed? Anywhere. It will be colorful, crazy, whimsical and make just about anyone smile:) So…that part is up to you. Each piece will be finished in a UV protective varnish, although should not be displayed in direct sunlight, as fading could occur.
What is the turnaround time for my custom artwork? Because there are many factors that determine turnaround time, we will discuss specific timing when you confirm your reservation. Tyically it will take 2-3 weeks from the time I receive your materials. If you require your art piece in a specific timeframe, a rush fee can be applied to meet your desired deadline.
How do I get my materials to you? We can talk about that in the consultation. Most likely, we will meet somewhere if you are local, and I can provide an address for those that need to ship. Same with getting your materials back to you. Shipping charges will apply for mailing back unused materials to non-locals (outside Orange County, CA).
